person’s appearance.
Techniques used for Plastic surgery in Delhi:
- Skin grafting- This is a process for putting the healthy skin of unaffected area to cover the lost or damage skin. This is generally recommended in case of bone fractures damaging the skin, surgical wounds, large wounds, and burns. Skin grafting is followed by two types of methods:
- Full thickness skin grafting, and
- Partial thickness skin grafting.
The
skin graft will generally be held in place using staples, stitches,
clips or special glue. The area is covered with a sterile dressing until
it has joined with the surrounding blood supply, usually taking 5 to 7
days.
- Tissue Expansion-The procedure includes stretching the surrounding tissues encouraging the body to grow new skin. The grown skin can then be used to reconstruct the adjoining area. The technique is generally used for breast reconstruction and healing the large wounds.
The
technique encompasses by inserting a balloon-like device called an
expander in the skin near the damaged area. This is then filled with
salt water over time, affecting the skin to initially stretch and grow.
The technique is followed by after giving the general anesthesia to the
patient.
- Flap Surgery- The flap surgery comprises the removal of a living piece of tissue from one area of the body to another, along with the blood vessels keeping it alive. The surgery is carried under general or local anesthesia depending on the area and size of the flap. A flap surgery is more successful than the skin grafting technique as the blood supply repairs the skin lowering the risk of failure.
